ABSENTEE BALLOT INFORMATION
Please take note of the NEW dates for upcoming elections and opportunities to VOTE BY ABSENTEE for the Village Elections, State Primary, and Presidential Primary.
The PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY has moved to June 23, 2020. This will coincide with the state primaries for Assembly and State Senate. Even though Vice President Joe Biden is the remaining viable Democratic candidate in the Presidential election, Delegates to the DNC Convention must also be voted on. You can check out the Presidential Primary Election Calendar by clicking this link. And please remember to vote for your top 6 delegates to represent us at the DNC National Convention.
You can now VOTE BY ABSENTEE for the June 23, 2020 Primary Election. Per Executive Order 202.15 provides that "Section 8-400 of the Election Law is temporarily suspended and hereby modified to provide that due to the prevalence and community spready of COVID-19, an absentee ballot can be granted on temporary illness and shall include the potential for contraction of the COVID-19 virus for any election held on or before June 23, 2020." The last date to apply for an absentee ballot by mail is June 16, 2020.

Step 2: Complete the application and make sure to Check the box for TEMPORARY ILLNESS.
Step 3: Return your absentee application. The Order continues that "Solely for any election held on or before June 23, 2020, Section 8-400 of the Election Law is hereby modified to allow for electronic application, with no requirement for in-person signature or appearance to be able to access an absentee ballot" the Order contains no change in the application deadlines.

Email applications from an individual can have an application attached to it or provide to the Board written information necessary to identify the voter in your county under EL 8-400(3). This would allow a Board to complete the review process prior to issuing the absentee ballot to identify the voter and the reason for the ballot. Absentee ballots would be sent to the voters residence address unless otherwise requested by the voter.

Voting will still require voters to mail in or hand deliver your ballot to the Board of Elections office. Here are the dates for Voting in the Primary Election:
Early Voting. At this time, early voting locations are still preparing to welcome voters. June 13 - June 21st at the Greene County Board of Elections office in Catskill.
Mail In Absentee Ballots must be postmarked no later than June 22, 2020 and in the possession of the County BOE no later than June 30, 2020.
Hand Delivered Absentee Ballots must be dropped off no later than June 23, 2020.

Change Where You Vote: The voter registration form should be used as a change of address form. Notices of change of address from registered voters received at least 20 days before a special, primary or general election by a county board of elections must be processed and entered in the records in time for that election.
