Congressional and State Senate primaries will be held in August with early voting from August 13-21, the Primary / Special Election the 23rd.
Special Election on 8/23/22: Pat Ryan is running to fill the remainder of Antonio Delgado's Congressional seat in the old NY 19 District, against Republican Marc Molinaro.
Primary Election on 8/23/22: Jamie Cheney and Josh Riley are competing to be your Congressional Candidate for the NEW NY 19 Congressional District. The winner of this primary will be the Democratic Candidate for Congress in the General Election 11/8/22.
New York has closed party primaries, meaning voters must be registered with the party in order to vote in its primary. The deadline to switch parties ahead of the upcoming primary is August 11th, two days before the start of early voting. Party change requests received on or after August 12 will not be valid until August 30 — seven days after the August 23rd primary election for congressional and state Senate districts.
Application to register to vote in the August Election has passed - the application to register to vote must be postmarked no later than July 29, 2022 and received by a board of elections no later than August 3, 2022 to be eligible to vote in the August 23 Primary.
