Chairwoman's Statement on Governor Cuomo's Resignation

Today is a seismic day for New York.

In two weeks, we will be swearing in the first woman as the 57th Governor of the State of New York. I believe Kathy Hochul is the right leader for this unprecedented moment. As a leader who has been elected by the people at every single level of government, she understands the political demands of the job and how to govern and get things done. She has been a great partner to Greene County and a strong voice for upstate values. It’s the “upstate way” of taking care of one another that I believe she will bring to her administration as she and her team tackle the tectonic challenges and opportunities ahead.
